Identifying Fetal Movements

I have started my kick counts, I'm 30 weeks pregnant, and you can't feel LO movements from the outside yet, but I'm beginning to notice some new sensations and I want to know what they are.  My next appointment isn't till next week and I am dying of curiosity.  Does anyone know what kind of movement feels like a snake uncoiling or a string moving up and down in waves?  I seem to feel it under my ribs and it happens when I am sitting, usually back straight or bent at the waist a little.  I also occasionally feel like a balloon inflating and deflating in my belly as well.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks.
