gunk b/w fingers

the past week i've noticed my lo (almost 9 weeks) has weird fuzz b/w all of his fingers and on his hands. he keeps them clutched a lot, although lately he's been opening them more so i'm seeing this gross stuff. his hands also smell. i wash them 2x/day but then i find more of it!

anyone else have this? what do you do about it?
