2 week old wants to be held while asleep!

I have a 2 week old baby and he does fine with naps during the day, he'll sleep in his bassinet, crib or even his portable bassinet but at night he wants to be held when hes asleep, anytime I lay him down he's awake within 5 minutes! I've had to make my 2 1/2 year old start sleeping in his own bed (he also went through this and slept with us untill now) so I can put the baby in bed with me, otherwise I get NO sleep bc by the time the little one will let me lay him down my older one is awake and ready to start the day. I don't want to put him in bed with us bc me and my husband never get to sleep in bed just us, plus I don't sleep good with him being in the bed since he's so little. HELP!
