I just graduated high school last year. The school I went to incorporated 7-12th grade in the same building because of the 450 students in my hometown (population 3500).

Anyway, there was a boy I remember who just started junior high last year who was made fun of on a daily basis because of his sexuality. He was gay, and the bullying almost never ended. The teachers and administration looked the other way...

And today the 14 year old was found dead in his bathroom. He hanged himself because of the constant torture he endured from his classmates.

It breaks my heart that a human being dealt with sorrow of that magnitude, and that his peers were so cruel to drive him to take his own life. I was never close to him, but the emotional burden I'm feeling for his family tonight is so painful.
