Silver Nitrate on Cervix?

Has anyone had this done? Im 14 weeks pregnant with slight spotting , after checking my cervix the Dr said that its friable and that means it just bleeds. She stated it had nothing to do with the baby ,and that everything is fine with the baby. She put silver nitrate on my cervix to try to stop the bleeding. Im still having a little bit of spotting and passed a few small clots.. Any information would be appreciated?
