16 week gender determination?

My MIL got us a gift for an elective US at 16 weeks to hopefully find out the sex of our baby. I made the appt today, and they told me that if they couldn't see it, we could come back for free, but that we could view the baby in 3D/4D. I'm a little nervous about finding out earlier than 18 weeks, as I don't want to be told the wrong thing!

Did any of you find out as early as 16 weeks?
