How long can a diaper stay on overnight?

DS has been sleeping 6-7 hours for his first stretch of the night lately. (so he's up around 3am to eat). However he eats very quickly and often never even opens his eyes the whole time. I'm constantly debating whether or not to change him at this time. If he poops or wakes up I definitely do, but what if he stays asleep? Will his diaper hold out until 5 or 6:00 when he's up next? I don't want a blow out in the middle of the night.  He's really hard to get back to sleep once he's up which is why I hate to wake him. 

(I know this is kind of a dumb question but DD never slept this long until she was older. Plus she was waaay easier to get back to sleep)
