Weird Cough at 2 1/2 months

DS has a cough and it kind of sounds like a bird squawking.  It isn't a constant thing maybe 3 coughs like this every 2-4 hours.  And his temp was up, not enough for a fever but higher than it normally is about 99.9.  I am taking him to the doctor tomorrow bc clearly that is not normal.  Has anyone else experienced this?
