Baby sounds like she is gasping...

We just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday morning. Last night the nursery nurses noted that it sounds like she is gasping every few breaths. I noticed it but thought it was just something babies did. It's the sound little kids make once they have had a really hard cry. She actually stopped breathing at one point when my husband was holding her today. She turned blue for a second and her oxygen dropped to 81 but stabilized within 5-10 minutes. Right now they are monitoring her breathing for 24 hours and i am scared out of my mind. Anyone experience this?
