Transitioning to crib this weekend-I have anxiety!

Our lo has slept in our room since he came home from te hospital.  his room is on a different level than ours sos it made sense.  now dh and i want him in his own room because we think everyone will sleep better in te long run...maybe.  i know that i am going to be checking the monitor every time i hear him make noise.  how do you all do it?  Any advice?
