Why no crib bumpers

Here is the article from the AAP, since so many of you seem to plan to use something that could be putting your child's life at risk.

From the guidelines:

Bumper pads should not be used in cribs. There is no evidence that bumper pads prevent injuries, and there is a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation or entrapment.
