2nd Trimester

new Down syndrome test

December 2011 in 2nd Trimester

I am 16 weeks pregnant. My quad screen second trimester tests just came back and although normal my risk of Down syndrome went from 1:680 to 1:300. I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks. Should I have an amniocentesis anyway or wait for the ultrasound. There is a new blood test for Downs (not covered by insurance) - takes 2 weeks to get back- should I have this......
