those of you that have dogs...thinking about a few months from now

We have a dog. She sheds. WTH will I do in a few months when DS is on the floor playing and crawling and biting everything in sight? For instance, baby has a toy and slobbers on it, drops it on the floor, picks it up and puts it back in his mouth?? OMG I have no clue what to do. There is no possible way to keep the floor that clean with a dog in the house. I am not a first time mom but it has been 12 years since I had my DD. What do you all think?
