16 weeks spotting?

I noticed a little pink spotting after using the bathroom this afternoon. It hasn't increased through the day but it's weighing on me. I called my doctor and she said that since I've had two children to full term that the chances of cervical problems are slim. She said to watch it and go to the ER if it's bright red or increases a lot. I have an appointment for Wednesday for my check-up but I wonder what's going on. I've had a bad cough for about a week, I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
