Short term disability insurance

I was talking to some ladies at work the other day and they were telling me that I should apply for short term disability for after delivery so that I will be able to stay out of work and still get partially paid. Problem is every company that I have contacted has said that since I am already pregnant that the leave will not be covered. Has anyone had any luck getting supplimental insurance while currently preg. I am clueless as to what happens with FMLA and such and know that we cannot afford for me to just stay out of work w/o getting paid.

I live in GA if that helps any.
