How long can you use the Rock and Play for?

I've read all of the great reviews of the RNP, but DD is already 8 weeks. Should I bother getting it at this point? How long can they use it for?

We end up putting DD in the swing at some point every night. The motion puts her to sleep, and I think she really likes the incline. Should I start using the RNP, or should I just work on getting DD to sleep flat in her cradle?
