Bathing newborn

Hi ladies, visiting from the 2nd tri. Im about to go into my 3rd soon and have a silly question.

 How did you bath your newborn the first couple weeks? I read to just "sponge" the baby without soap (aside from possibly scalp if needed) on a towel on the floor. Is this true?

 Also any recommendations on infant baths to buy?

Obviously a first timer here and Im petrified of the first baths!
