Gift with thank you note?

   I was not sure what the correct way to do this, I want to send a thank you letter, a shower gift, and birth announcement to a friend of mine. She is due in Jan, and since I missed her shower I wanted to send her some things. 

  Is it okay to tuck the thank you note in the birth announcement and put it all in the gift box, or should I send them separate? Is it okay to have the thank you note also include the gift for easy exchange?

 

  I don't want to be tacky.
