Number of feedings

My LO is 4 weeks today and during the last few days he's only been eating 6 times in a 24 hour period.

He sleeps well, with 2-3 hour naps during the day and 4.5 - 5 hour stretches during the night (knock on wood!). He's and EBF gaining weight. He cries when he's hungry and will stop nursing when he's finished.

Is this normal/okay? I know infants should be eating 8-12 times in a 24 hour period, which he started out doing, but I wasn't sure when this number should decrease.

Any thoughts?
