gulping air?

My LO always makes this noise like she is sucking in air. I thought she was just making a noise but realized that she IS sucking in a big gulp of air because i hear her swallowing it. she does it ALL the time, even in her sleep. I told my pedi about it and they brushed it off as "just another baby noise" but i have never heard a baby do this. anyone else have a LO that gulps air?
