XP: The shipping is HOW much?!!? :(

I had finally mustered up the guts to order our baby furniture since they were running a special at Babies R Us on the line we love (Babi Italia Hamilton).I was SHOCKED when I put the items into my "basket" online and saw that the shipping costs varied from $300 to $500 depending on how many items I ordered!!?!I mean, seriously??!  Is this normal??  I know this is my first time doing this and all, but I never considered having to factor in an additional $300+ for shipping... I am so disappointed, I don't know if we can afford this furniture now...Any thoughts or advice?  Or do I just need to suck it up?
