Help me figure this out PLEASE!!!

I've asked my parents and tried to research it online but have not had any luck so hopefully you ladies can help...

When I was little, I had a favorite book (I actually cut my eye on it when I was 2 or 3).  It was about a man who went fishing but the fish caught him and brought him down to their home in the ocean and put him in a bowl as their pet but he got sad and they let him go home.  Does that sound familiar to anyone?  Anyone know the title?  Of course I don't have it anymore; I'm sure it was a casuality when my parents split over 22 years ago.  I would love to find it and have it for my little boy.  If anyone can think of anything, I'd appreciate it!!!
