Waking in the night hungry- what to do?

so for whatever reason yesterday Lorenzo did not eat dinner for me and when DH got home- he tried to get him to eat some and he just didnt want to- fine, we dont force the issue-

but last night he woke at 1, 130, 230, then 3- we took turns going in comforting, he'd settle then wake- so DH says maybe he's hungry- so I gave him a bottle of milk, rocked him to settle, and put him down..he stayed asleep.{ Now obvs he couldn't really tell me what was going on- it could be teeth- he could havebeen hungry- we're just guessing...I was trying to get him to sign what he wanted but by the 3rd wake up..I was tired}

So if your LO has a light dinner- what do you do? do you offer a snack before bed? (I really dont want to get into THIS habit- but if we stick with fruit or crackers or something- it wouldn't be too bad)
