Taking a one year old to Monkey Joes?

Tomorrow DS and a friend of mines son turn 1. She has insisted on taking the boys to Monkeys Joes in Raleigh, I've never been but she says they have an area for kids his size. DS is pretty small, and not walking all that good yet so I'm iffy if it will be a waste of gas and money to drive all the way there, pay to get in, and DS not be able to do anything.

For those of you who have gone, would you take your 1 year old? Is he even going to be able to play without getting trampled by other kids? Any suggestions for things to do with kids their age would be great too!
