Single Parents

"You will always do more than your share"

My lawyer reminded me of this a few days ago when we were talking about the fact that he probably won't shape up and pay all his child support, take his scheduled visits, etc.  I will always be compensating for his inability to be an upstanding adult citizen with a job or a driver's license.

Example A:

Today is the first night B is spending with his father since January.  I took B the 100 miles to his parents' house this morning.  Along with B, I also had to take:

all diapers, food (all table food), clothes, stroller, and carseat because STBXH just "didn't have time to get them."  He's known he was going to have his overnight tonight for multiple weeks.  Good planning Dad!

P.S.  This is his only overnight per the current CO, so no, I am not (and will not) take all those things for B every time going forward.  I only did it today to ensure he gets what he needs on this first day/night away from the only home he knows.
