Is it wrong to say "giftcards" when people ask what to get LO?

We are having a big party for DS and a lot of people are asking what DS may like or want.  We've given out all of his ideas already and I don't know what else to add.  We are moving in a month and I am not trying to add more useless toys to the mix.

Is it weird to start telling the next people who ask that we'd prefer just a giftcard?

I just feel like that's no fun since people like to actually purchase something.

What are your thoughts.
