Teething and nasal congestion?

Has anyone else's LO had this? It seems like every time Molly has teeth cutting through, she gets a majorly stuffy/runny nose. It is always clear, but it really interferes with BFing and her sleeping. And the past two times it developed into even worse congestion, followed by an ear infection, too. I googled it and I found lots of conflicting info. Half say it is a common symptom, half say it is not related at all.

Chelsea was the best teether...I never even knew when she had teeth coming in! So I feel like I have no clue with Molly ... she is so fussy and miserable and I feel so bad for her! I've been giving her ibuprofen at bedtime but I don't want to overdo that.
