NBR: have you ever sold jewelry?

I see and hear tons of commercials for selling old gold jewelry. Has anyone ever done it? Where did you go (especially if you're in the Buffalo area) I feel like some places would be a rip off (airport plaza jewelers)

I cleaned out my jewelry cabinet and I have lots of old 14K gold that I will never wear again, and has no sentimental value to me. Rings, chains, charms (anyone remember these charm necklaces? I have about 25 charms w/ it!)

I really want a new camera lens, but it's not in the budget right now... so I thought I could sell all my old jewelry and put it towards it.
