where do they learn things?

This week Ethan has been walking up and down the stairs with his hands folded so that he isn't holding onto anything.  I have no clue how he would come up with hisor who he could be copying b/c we don't walk this way.  His balance is amazing.  He scares me when he does it b/c he won't let me touch him. he also says "wheee!!" when we go up or down a hill.  He has only ever been in the car with me and dh and we don't say anything.  Especially for hills in Buffalo.  I think my parents driveway is steerper than anything around here.
