Tantrums

Ds who is 4 is having horrible tantrums. Today I told him that he wasn't allowed to go on a ride because he wasn't listening and running around when I asked him to sit. Only for like 10 minutes. He through a major fit run off though not on the road just ok the grass. It took him 30 minutes to calm down. Some of that was back at the house. He was not allowed on his play date today. What do you do
