Milk

I know there is a good chance I may be blasted for even asking this BUT I am going to give it a go. My boys are 7 months old right now, and I was planning on switching them to whole milk at the end of 8 months very slowly. I know everyone says breast milk and formula are the best options, but I have also talked to parents who have started switching over to milk at 8-9 months who have not had any issues. Are there any parents out there who have switched before 1 year? Any good/bad examples would be helpful. I know what would be the most ideal, but I just really want to hear about experiences rather then getting a million links about why it's a horrible idea.
