Throwing food

I see and hear all these other mommies feed finger foods from their babies tray. I have tried this a few times, and all he does is throw it everywhere. I even show him how to pick it up and put the food in his mouth. He stares at my, grabs a handful, and flings. I can pick up pieces and put it in his mouth.
