TTC: did you tell any of your friends?

We are planning to start TTC in August, and coincidentally two of my best girl friends have been begging me to go on a mini vacay with them the week after we have planned as our "start" date for TTC.  Anyway, I ended up telling them about my plans for TTC, and missing this trip because of it.  I feel kind of like an OCD freak for not wanting to go, because chances are it won't happen for us on the first cycle anyway, but I also don't want to go - because what if I'm ovulating and I miss the chance on my first cycle!  Haha! 

So, did you tell your friends about your plans to TTC for a reason like this?
