Is it ok for my 5 1/2 week old to sleep on tummy time mat?

He literally cries every second he is not sleeping, and because we are transitioning him to his crib at night (which he is doing moderate at), he is up screaming even when he should be sleeping. Ironically, he LOVES tummy time and will lay there lifting his head and staring into the floor-lever mirror built into it....but, he fell asleep on his stomach and has been there for about 30 mins. Should I leave him there or risk waking him up (VERY easily woken up) and putting him in his crib? (I feel like he NEVER sleeps any more and should get some when he can...)
