HSP diagnosis

I'm not sure if this is the best board to post on, but am feeling really scared and overwhelmed about my 3 1/2 year old daughter being diagnosed with something called HSP--Hemoch Scholein Purpura.  It's a vascular illness causing swelling in the blood vessels that can cause kidney damage.  She is on steroids now, but was wondering if anyone else's child had ever had this.  They say it could last 1-2 months or longer in some cases.  She is in a lot of pain from joint swelling and itching like crazy covered in welt-like hives.  It's so sad to see her like this.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
