The medical director of my MFM practice lives in my building and is aware that one of his staff put in a cerclage. I saw the director last night and he told me to get on the scheduling of the removal so that I could do it at the hospital location instead of the office location. He said about 20% of his removals he does without anesthesia but he offers anesthesia to about 80% of hie removal patients. He said most OB's will do them w/o buuut that its very painful for the patient and makes it harder for the doc.
I think most people do it without but if they're offering and its not harmful for the baby... why not?... am I being crazy wimpy?
