Wrap questions

I know there are lots of posts about the best baby carrier but I have a specific question. My DD I both love the Moby. However we live in the south where it is very hot humid so I am afraid to use it this summer. Her stroller is black so I am afraid she will be really warm in it especially when we are on vacation. She is very hot natured also. If I make a moby style wrap out of gauze or linen would it be cool enough? I dont want to spend a lot of money on a new carrier because I feel like she will not like being confined by one once she gets mobile. Other ideas of BW in the hot summer?
