I am happy to announce the arrival of our daughter, Beatrix, born yesterday via emergency c-section at 8:41am on June 2nd. She weighed 1lb 5oz and was 11 1/2 inches long. There was some discrepancy regarding her age an early sonogram dated her as 23w6d, my LMP dated her as 23w1d. Not a big deal in most cases but when every day counts it is a big deal.

I delivered at our local hospital which has a level 3 NICU but they were not equipped to deal with our tiny girl. Luckily a level 4 hospital is about 1 hour from us so then sent a team to scoop up our LO and transport her to the hospital. They were able to transfer me there later that night.

We have a long difficult road before us but are optimistic. Beatrix will likely be here until late August or September. She is currently stable and they said her lungs look good at the moment but things can and may change drastically in a matter of minutes.

Please keep our LO in your thoughts and prayers.
