Rash on Tummy

So I have this itchy rash on my tummy that developed after a shaved that area, and its been bothering for a few weeks, when I call into the doc office, the nurse says just to put some cream on it. But I think it's from shaving. I recently shaved that little annoying happy trail that goes down under your belly button. I'm not sure if the razor had rust on it or what, but it definitely irritated my skin. Anyone have this or have had this?
