Wine as Hostess Gift?

I was thinking of getting the hostesses of my baby shower a bottle of wine for a hostess gift. I'm not a big wine drinker, I drank whatever my mother would pour when I would come over for dinner, so I don't know what good wines are out there! I was hoping you ladies could help me out!

Is wine an appropriate gift for hostesses? What kind of wine would you suggest? Should I get anything else with the wine, like snacks or a frame or something else?
