Maternity leave

I was going to take just the six weeks off after the baby, but now I'm starting to change my mind and i would like to take eight weeks.  I believe as long as our company has 50 employees I have every right to do this.  I'm just nervous to tell them and also to live on my husbands paycheck for two months.  Am I right with my right to take eight weeks?  Anyone else nervous about the money situation?  I I know it's worth it, but it just make me nervous.  Thanks so much.
