Appropriate registry?

My mother and sister have said they are throwing me a shower for both my and DH's side of family and friends. I think they'll end up inviting approximately 70 people.

A couple girls at work have hinted at throwing me a shower, which perhaps 15 co-ed people would attend.. I don't think they'd really be buying stuff off my registry though. More just like taking me out to lunch. Maybe a couple people would check out my registry.

I'm just registering for things now at two places... What would be an appropriate number of gifts at both stores, and what price points should items be? I know it's not an exact science, but should most be under $20? Are a few things over $100 acceptable at both stores? Is there a "rule of thumb" ratio for price points to follow?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA!!
