Cervix Soft & Baby Engaged

I'm 35 wks and had an exam - doctor said my cervix is soft and she can feel my baby's head. Has anyone had a simialr experience around this time - did you deliver early or on time? I'm so curious because some people are sayign this is a sign I may deliver early. Thanks!!
