Bottle Sterilizing

I got a bottle Sterilizer at my shower and then some people were telling me to just sterilize the bottles and etc. in the dish washer. So I'm wondering if it is worth having the sterilizer or should I return it. If I can just use the dishwasher, do I just run everything through on the High Temp Wash/ Sani Rinse with no detergent?
