Shower: Who is invited?

So I just received my shower invitation from my MIL. It was addressed to both my husband and I, and the invitation read "In Honor Of" and had both of our names.
Does this mean my husband is invited too? I am embarrassed to ask my MIL...because I thought she had told me it was a close family and friends, women's only gathering.
Anyone with some insight? Was this just proper etiquette since it is honoring us both as the parents? Eek.
