Talk to me about Non Stress Tests (NST's)

Due to my higher BP and recent diagnosis of GD, my practice wants me to come in twice a week, starting on Monday for non-stress tests. Dr. said it could be as short as a half an hour if he cooperates, or as long as an hour if not.

Is anyone else familiar with this? What should I expect?
