Two showers, one keepsake?

Ok. My mom is hosting a coEd shower about a week before Mil is hosting a shower. My mom is going to have my favorite book from when I was a child for everyone to sign and give advice. When I told my Mil she thought is was a cute idea and wants to do one also. She said that I could pick the book out since she doesn't know which one to get.
My question is, would it be alright to use the same book from shower 1 so that all the messages are in the same place? Or should I use two books? Moms using There's a Wocket in My Pocket by Dr. Suess. Should I get another Dr. Suess book like The Sleep Book?
ETA: Many of the same guest will be at both showers if that changes anything.
