Packing a Hospital Bag?

Thinking about starting to pack bags for the hospital and have been checking out all these different lists around the internet. Some of these lists seem extra excessive and was hoping to get some ideas from girls that have been there already!

I've seen chapstick on ALL of the lists and was wondering if there was a specific brand anyone suggests or if the Chapstick brand is good.

Is it really necessary to bring lots and lots of snacks with? I'm a Goldfish lover so I was planning on bringing one bag of those and a couple bottles of water. Is that good or should I bring more?  

Also, what do I need to bring for baby? I've set out a go home outfit, 2 side snap shirts, mittens, booties and a few socks. Planning on throwing a light blanket in the car seat for going home. What do you think? Too much, not enough?
