check cervix?

Last week my doctor said he would check my cervix at my appointment tomorrow 36w. I kind of don't want him to because I know it will be uncomfortable, but also because I was only 3cm when I got to the hospital after my water had broken with DS1 and he came 2 hours later at 37w. So I really don't think tomorrow will tell me anything anyway. Would you get checked? Are most doctors okay with you saying you don't want to do it?
