plan for ride to hospital

Do you have a back up plan if you go into labor and your hubby is not there to take you? Mine works all over up to an hour plus some times and even if he's not that far traffic could take him longer to get to me. He's a contractor with crazy hours. No fam around and I have a 8 yr old and a 6 yr old step son. I do have friends around. So I guess they would be my first call. But knowing me I could see myself driving to the hospital LOL. I don't like bothering people to help me. I would just be concerned about having to take the kids with me.
Just wondering if anyone else is thinking about their hospital trip.
